Clutter Control
Last summer, i have been reading old magazines and have learned many things about self-improvement. For me, self-improvement is a continuous task that a person should always pay attention.
One article that took my interest is about clutter control. I find it very helpful for me because i could describe my room as the ‘chaotic mass of things’.

Beware of a Group of Manila Cops
beware of a group of manila cops
this was passed on by my husband's classmate from college in la salle.... hope it never happens to any of your loved ones!
thanks for the e mail. i'd like to tell you my son's experience with the manila police last wednesday evening at about 10pm. Christian went to the condo at the corner of vito cruz and taft ave. to return his cousin's laptop. he handed the laptop to his cousin and went back to the car. when he got to the car, there was a cop who asked him what he was doing there; why he was parked on a no parking area. christian said, if it were a no parking area why is it that there are a lot of cars parked. the cop told him to open his trunk and chris asked, why? do you have a warrant? anyway, the car doors and windows were open and another cop searched the interior while another opened the trunk. in the toolbox they found the plastic end of spark plugs. the cop said it was a paraphernalia. the same cop brought to the trunk used plastic sachets of shabu and started to shout 'drugs 'to!', 'drugs!' so they took christian, to the atm of bpi. they saw his card and asked him to withdraw all his money. fortunately he does not keep his money there. only his salary is deposited there. so the cops we insisted that he was a drug user. and my son was saying do a test now so they'll see if he's positive. he said i can't work in mandarin as a chef if i'm a drug user. he said he had to get police, nbi, barangay, court and medical clearance before he could start working. then the police took him to police head-quarters at un ave. and there forced him to eat shabu. it took a while before he ate it. six cops were punching him and scaring him with their guns until the poor guy peed in his pants out of fear. he had to swallow the drug. then the cops started to laugh. now we'll see if you are negative of shabu. '200,000php and we'll let you go or this will be at the fiscals office in the morning. call your friends and parents. this ordeal started at 10pm. he was able to call me at 5am the following day. poor son of mine was really traumatized. a friend of his came with twenty thousand the cops grabbed it and let him go as if nothing happened. i was in lipa all the time this was happening. chris later found out from his cousin that seven of her friends were also apprehended by the same group of cops and also took them to their atm's. they got all their money in the account. this cop is capt.mendoza of the mobil group and sargent gavino. if you guys know influential people in the service, please let them know about this. i would also like for them to return the money they took from my son so he could give it back to his friend. the more people know about this so called police officers the better. this is the type of government that we have now. disarm the population and this type of abuse happens. thanks and pass it on. bob

The Jury has Decided
To live and survive these days is the toughest struggle for me. The daily needs has been getting more and more expensive as each day passes by. It is getting harder to survive.
I admit, i am afraid to lose my job. Beside for the facts that I love it and I am enjoying every tasks given to me, it is already my life. It has been the air that I am breathing and the one that provides food in our table and fills up our stomach. I am the breadwinner of the family and losing a job is least thing I would want to happen to me.
And now the result is out. The nervousness is killing me and I hate it when my patience is being test this way.
"This is the moment you have been waiting for", the HR told me.
For a moment, my world stopped spinning as I wait for the next set of words that she would be telling me.
"You have passed," and the thorn that was stuck in my throat was removed.
"Hooray!", my heart jumped in joy but my face showed no emotion. It is a talent that was given to me. To hide my true feelings.
Thanks God.
Everyday I was waiting until I have forgotten about it and it has been more than a month before the result was revealed. I have been traveling through a rough road lately. And in the day you least expect things like this, is the day they would always come. It just come on the moments that you have nowhere else to turn to.
I am just happy right now. Just now. I don't want to get overexcited about it. I just want to savor this moment silently with a smile.
In every rough road, there is a lesson to learn. In every good things that come is a chance to be happy and prepare yourself for a bigger battle ahead.

Still Stuck in the Office
kinda tired now and i am still waiting.
i got here at seven in the morning ang it is already almost six i am still here. 50% of my precious saturday spent was spent working.
if only people could survive by just staring blankly at the ceiling, i would gladly voluteer and keep that career for the rest of my life. i may have the title for "Most Number of Hours Staring Blankly on Nothing Award" or the "Best Couch Potato of the Century" award.
My supervisor already approached and asked me why i am still here and i said 'I am waiting for a reply' and told me to just leave my client a message.
And that's what I did. I'll just continue this at home later. I still don't want to miss my saturday.
i am starving already.

What "Jhoy" Means
Here's how the meaning of my name goes:
What Jhoy Means |
You never give up, and you will succeed... even if it takes you a hundred tries. You are rational enough to see every part of a problem. You are great at giving other people advice. You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person. You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life. You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you. At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself. You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in. You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising. You may miss out by not settling down, but you're too busy having fun to care. |
What do you think? Is this me or somebody else? :)
Migrating to Multiply
Multiply is easy to manage and very straighforward. It follows the WYSIWYG standard of formatting and editing that is why you can play with your page's design and content.
Previously, I only use multiply as my online album. And now, I am starting to migrate my stuffs from Friendster to multiply. And now, i just added personal touch to my multiply page. I grabbed a multiply theme and used it in my site.
Here is how it looks like before:
And now:
I think I am going to settle down with multiply as my social network account. :)

Chico and Delle's Manila Bulletin Column - Online
I happen to be browsing their daily top ten archive at Chico and Delle's Top Ten when I stumbled upon their Manila Bulletin Online Column. I haven't read any of their article in the broadsheet so i have no idea how their column goes. Finally, I got the chance to read their article.
Their weekly column goes like this, a sender sends them a letter asking for help or an advice then Chico & Delle will give their own separate opinion and advice. Kinda cool, huh?
I haven't read any of write-ups fully but i promise myself, i'll read them one-by-one as soon as i have free time. :)

The Narnia Fever
The movie was based on the fantasy novel by Clive Staples Lewis which was written on 1950. There are seven series of the books from 1950-56. Two of which already were already filmed. I am assuming that these series would be the next Harry Potter mania. Here is a quick list of the book novels:
- The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)
- Prince Caspian: The Return to Narnia (1951)
- The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)
- The Silver Chair (1953)
- The Horse and His Boy (1954)
- The Magician’s Nephew (1955)
- The Last Battle (1956)
Even though the movie was meant for children, I can't help myself from watching it and craving for movie. It is such a great movie and has a nice story line.
We went to Trinoma yesterday and luckily, a movie gallery was set-up in the theater lobby. This was a photo opp of course hehe :D
Presenting... Prince Caspian!
