Fav Movie: A Walk to Remember

Wonder who didn't cried while watching this movie. This is one of my favorite and is really great

Summary from imdb:

This is a heart-warming movie about the transformation of a character, Landon Carter (Shane West) who falls in love with someone who crosses his path, a fellow tutor, Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore). Landon learns concepts of faith, forgiveness, and reconciliation in interactions with his high school friends.

The plot: there is an initial rejection of Landon as one who would even talk to Jamie, but he begins to accept her as a friend. The stress increases as he walks away from his social group into a deep relationship, only to find it is only temporary.

It's been a decade since i graduated elementary. I barely remember the names of my classmates then. Only those who have been my friends and close me are the ones i could remember.

Bitoy as Reader's Digest September 2008 Cover

The cover of Reader's Digest for their September issue is our very own Michael V a.k.a. "Bitoy" with a cover title of "Yari Ka!".

"Yari ka" is a segment in "Bitoy's Funniest Videos" which is a philippine comedy show aired every Saturday night in GMA 7 hosted by Bitoy himself. In this segment, he does various disguises to pull decent pranks to people where in the end he says the tagline "Yari Ka" just like in "You've been punked" in America's "Punked".

Reader's Digest made an international recognition to our talented fella for being a great comedian especially his outstanding ability to impersonate popular icons. The magazine admired his talent as an artist and comedian.

He was very known for his role as "Etong, Betong and Bebang" in "Bitoy's World" and lately as "Angelina's Yaya" in Bubble Gang. When interviewed and asked which character he liked best portraying, it would be as "Junee Lee" saying that it is the real Michael V, a shytype person in real life.

He was very humble to say that he was flattered to be the mag's cover for the month. He was the second Filipino to be in the cover after the former President Cory Aquino was featured for being the first lady president. Bitoy was also awarded 3 times in the Asian TV awards as comedy actor.

What a great comedian and person he is. I really admire him. I am planning to buy the RD's September issue maybe at the end of the month.

In the Cliff's Edge

Yesterday, I was not able to come to work. I had to pick up the baranggay clearance I applied for last week.

I should be able to go to the office even if I am already late but due to some circumstances, I did not made it to work.

And today, I was informed by our CSR that my client had gone mad because of my frequent absences lately. My emotion was all mixed up but I am not surprised. Deep inside me, I was expecting for this kind of news to welcome me in morning.

I am in the verge of quitting not because I don't want my job. For the record, I love my current job very much that if I were asked to come on Saturdays, I never say no. I like to give up instead of losing it.

I am not a quitter. It's the action that I hate the most. Even if I know I only have a small chance of winning, I always take the risk.

And today, I am given another opportunity. I am going to push myself to the edge to embrace a new challenge. I need to do to give a little spark in this gloomy path that I am currently heading. There is nobody else who could push me forward but me.

I am not a quitter and I'll never be.

Lifeless, Dull and Gloomy

We are busy people and we oftentimes say that we don't have time for this and for that. Things that we have that we became used to on having them or people that we encounter everyday or those persons who have been with us since birth.

Once you have started working, most of your time is spent to work. Ten hours a day you are stucked in the office doing your daily tasks and 3-4 hours are spent on the road as you commute from your house to your office or vice versa. Once you get to your house, you spend an hour fixing your dinner and 2 hours doing your laundry. Afterwards, you go back in front of your computer to do take home jobs that didn't finished in your workplace and is in urgent deadline for the following day. At the end, you spend 2-3 hours of sleep and if lucky enough, four.

Then you wake up, prepare to work, go to work and cycle goes on and on and on.

You see, we have 24 hours a day. Quiet a long day and yet seems so short for everything you need to do. If you have been playing the RPG game "The Sims", you might actually observed that your characters stats are based in real life. Your social life and happiness drops because of the mismanagement of your time.

People suffer depressions because of burning out. They get sad, frustrated and lifeless doing the same thing over and over and over again.

There is a diminishing value of interest for a certain thing. For example, today you like ice cream and tomorrow you'll liked it too. But the day after that, it'll only be 90% that you like it and keeps on decreasing as days goes by and you'll no longer like ice cream anymore.

Doing the same actions day by day will get you lifeless.

Find time for everything but that doesn't mean do it all in the same day. Today you can go out dinner with your friends and tomorrow play scrabble with your family. Give room for spontaneity in your life. Don't be a predictable person that everyone could just record a video of and just watch it over and over again.

For the past three years of my life working, i have been doing the same routine everyday. Wake up, go to work, work, go home, work, and sleep. I'm lucky enough to have fun dates when my friends call me up to have a night out or just dropped by to chat.

I have been suffering depression for the past few months and I have witnessed how badly it affected me, my family, friends and work. Depression slowly kills me and take away the color in my life, took away the smile in my face and ruined my health.

Emotional stress and over-fatigue was what the doctors told me. My laboratory tests failed (thank God) after liters(just exaggerating) of blood taken from me. I was adviced to rest but my conditioned didn't stopped me from working until one morning, I really felt sick and couldn't go out of bed.

It was then I realized how bad what I've done to myself. That day, I also realized how selfish I was to myself, thinking only about my career and forgotten about my family and friends. I think about those times that was supposedly I have spent with them. Gone.

Time gone can never be brought back. But it is never too late for me. I still have time and I want to spend the rest of it in the right way. Being spontaneous doesn't mean I am not serious with my life, it is just adding to color to it and now I'll try to bring back that spontaneity in me that had been gone in the long time. Slowly and one step at a time.

worldtvradio: Watch TV and Listen to Radio Online

Internet has been my life for about a decade now. It has been a permanent part of my daily routine, check emails, post blog, forum activity, etc.

The best part of having an Internet access in your own home simply brought the best part of entertainment to me, online TV and radio access. There are lots of TV and radio portal in the web and one thing I hate about surfing these sites are the popup ads that blocks my browser.

I stumbled upon a software called world TVRT. It is Internet Television and Radio directory where you can watch tons of channels as well as numerous radio channels. According to their latest list, they already have 11500 records: 1750 TV channels and 9500+ radio stations. Who wouldn't want that? Cool, huh?

They were offering lots of channels worldwide. As I browsed through their channel list, I saw Japan, Poland, Egypt, UK and others. This just mean that you could watch your local channel that has Internet TV anywhere around the globe. Really nice.

Internet connectivity has never been fun when you could watch your favorite shows anywhere you are. Luckily there is this software that provides a wide range of TV and radio channels online.
